Before registering for the 2027 UTME, prepare your identity details and documents so you can complete the process accurately when JAMB publishes the official registration timetable. As of 10 October 2026, candidates should confirm the opening date, approved fees and current instructions directly through JAMB’s official website. Do not rely on forwarded messages or unofficial agents for dates.
JAMB 2027 preparation checklist
- National Identification Number: Check that your NIN details, especially your name and date of birth, are correct and consistent with your documents.
- Personal phone number: Use a number you control and can keep accessible throughout registration and admission processing.
- Email address: Make sure you can sign in, reset the password if necessary, and receive messages.
- Profile code: Follow the exact SMS or other instructions JAMB publishes for the 2027 cycle. Do not use a code generated for someone else.
- O’Level results: Prepare accurate WAEC, NECO or other accepted results information, and check the admission requirements for your chosen course.
- Course and institution choices: Confirm subject combinations and each institution’s current entry requirements before making choices.
- Registration centre: Use only a centre listed as accredited by JAMB for the relevant process.
Wait for the official 2027 timetable
Do not treat previous years’ registration dates as confirmed dates for 2027. JAMB can change the schedule, process, approved charges or instructions. Check the official website and JAMB’s verified announcements before buying an e-PIN or visiting a CBT centre.
Check your details before submitting
Read every screen carefully before confirming your registration. Pay particular attention to the spelling and order of your names, date of birth, gender, state and local government area, course choices and examination town. Keep your registration slip and payment evidence in a safe place. Never share your password or one-time verification code with an agent.
Choose a course realistically
Compare the required UTME subjects with the subjects you intend to sit. Check the university’s admission page and JAMB’s current brochure rather than relying on old social posts. A course can have requirements that differ from a similar course at another institution.
What if your NIN or JAMB details are wrong?
Resolve identity-record errors through the appropriate official channel as early as possible. Read our guide to correcting JAMB data and follow the current process shown on JAMB e-Facility. Avoid unofficial promises of instant corrections.
