Corrections Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

MyEducation aims to keep its education information accurate and current. When we find a meaningful factual error or outdated claim, we review the source and correct the page when the evidence supports a change.

What we correct

Examples include incorrect examination dates, wrong application deadlines, outdated admission requirements, inaccurate scholarship details, incorrect fees, broken official links, misleading statements and other factual errors that could affect a reader’s decision.

How corrections are handled

  1. We review the report and identify the claim in question.
  2. We check the strongest available source, with preference given to the official source responsible for the information.
  3. We correct the article when the evidence supports the reported error.
  4. Where the change is important, we update the article’s update information or add a short note where that helps readers understand the change.
  5. We check related information when a correction affects other parts of the article.

Major changes

Some updates are larger than a simple correction. For example, a university may change its admission process or a scholarship provider may replace its eligibility rules. In those cases, we may rewrite affected sections instead of making a small wording change.

How to report an error

If you find an error or outdated information, contact us through the MyEducation Contact page. Please include the article URL, the information you believe is incorrect, and a reliable source that supports the correction when possible.

What happens after a report

We review credible reports as soon as practical. A report does not automatically mean that an article will be changed. We may need to verify the information or compare several sources before making a decision.

We do not remove accurate information simply because someone disagrees with it. Our decisions are based on evidence and editorial judgment.

Ongoing review

We pay particular attention to information that changes often, including JAMB and other examination information, admission requirements, scholarship deadlines, funding amounts and study abroad requirements. We also review our editorial and SEO practices when relevant guidance from Google Search, advertising platforms or other authoritative sources changes.
